Mic Jakobi

NT Hay Seed & Grain

NT Hay Seed & Grain was established in November 2020 to expand contracting capability and support the development and expansion of farming enterprises in the Northern Territory.  NT HS&G brings together the expertise of the Stanway brothers, Robert and Phil of WSB Distributors and Mic Jakobi of Central Onsite Services.

Mic Jakobi has developed a reputation for hard work, innovation and lateral problem solving. He has been operating successfully on his own for several years and is well known in the NT for his contract farming, seeding, hay baling, reaping and cultivating services.

Founded in 1942, WSB is owned and managed by a 3rd generation of Stanway’s, brothers Rob and Phil.  WSB is a leading agriculture and farm machinery, sales and full-service business with established operations in SA’s Mid North (including the head office in Clare), Mallee and the Riverland. WSB have been providing machinery sales and service expertise to the Northern Territory in Douglas Daly and Katherine since 1984.

They have built a strong reputation with their customers as providers of reliable, high quality and responsive service, parts supply and machinery and industrial equipment sales.

Meet Our Executive Team

Mic Jakobi

Operations Director

Mic has a passion for farming with trade qualifications as a heavy diesel technician, he  also has a commercial helicopter pilots licence. Mic has developed a range of expertise in the agricultural sector in the NT.  He has established a career in farming, initially starting with grass hay he has diversified into grain and seed crop production with an emphasis on commercialisation of new tropical grass varieties.

He was awarded the first commercial Hemp licence in the NT and is now also experimenting with protected cropping of ginger.  He is passionate about developing profitable farming systems which complement mainstream crop rotations and enhance soil health for the long term.

Mic is a passionate Territorian and his family are based in Darwin. 

Phil Stanway


Phil holds a degree in Ag Science and operationally leads WSB  Distributors,  with a focus on business development,  supplier and customer relationships. He is key in identifying and developing growth and expansion strategies and has built a strong reputation with his customers,  understanding their needs and challenges as well as those that present themselves in the market and industry.  A lateral thinker and problem solver Phil works with his team to ensure that they can service a diverse client base and have access to reliable, competitive and commercial supply chains.

Phil has a passion and in-depth understanding of the Agri business sector and takes a holistic view of opportunities using his practical experience and broad skill set to deliver great business outcomes.

He and his family live in the Clare Valley where WSB has its head office.

Rob Stanway


Rob and his family hail from the beautiful Clare Valley in South Australia.  Rob currently has a variety of business interests including NT HS&G and is actively involved in the family business, WSB Distributors, with his brother and co-director of NT HS&G, Phil Stanway.   

Rob also has significant interest in the wine industry, in vineyards and wine making. Rob is a Chartered Accountant by trade but a successful and varied career has equipped him to innovate, identify and develop opportunities. 

He and Phil are excited and committed to working with the NT Agricultural sector to add value and create a sustainable business.

Sardi Calver

General Manager

Based in Adelaide Sardi has crafted a successful career in operations, general management, HR and service delivery in the consulting, mining, resources, education and development sectors locally, nationally and internationally. 

She will focus on supporting the business with strong process and fit for purpose systems and processes, allowing the team to advance growth and diversification of services,  current crops and markets.

Sardi holds an MBA and is a graduate from the Australian Institute of Company Directors. She is delighted to be involved in a start-up venture where there is such great potential to develop a business that will benefit all of its stakeholders and have a positive impact on agriculture in the NT.
